Light it Up
Current Electricity passes through a light bulb to make a complete circuit. Electricity passes from the base of the bulb, up through a wire, through a thin tungsten filament in the glass bulb filled with inert gases, then back down through another wire to complete the circuit. Light bulbs are filled with a mixture of gases, like nitrogen and argon, to prevent the filament from burning up. What would happen if the glass bulb were filled with oxygen? Would the filament burn up faster or more slowly?
