The GIS/GPS Academy is designed to introduce educators to two exciting technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Educators will not only be introduced to these technologies but also be give tools and resources for using them to enhance their curriculum.
The academy consists of three courses; GIS in the Classroom, The GPS Classroom and Project Based GIS/GPS. In addition to the in person courses this web site provides additional resources to supplement the courses or to be used on their own.
Academy Courses:
The first two courses of the Academy, GIS in the Classroom and The GPS Classroom, can be taken in either order. Once both courses have been taken then the third course, Project Based GIS/GPS, can be taken.

Before attending each course read through the Course Resources section. Read the syllabus so you will know what to expect and prepare for.
NOTE: Introducing GIS and GPS in the classroom can lead to a career in Geospatial Technology for your students.
