Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Excelsior College
Dana Offerman, PhD, is the Provost and Chief Academic Officer of Excelsior College. Before coming to Excelsior, she served as Vice Provost for Assessment and Institutional Research at Capella University and prior to that she was the Director of PK-16 at the University of Wisconsin System and led distance education policy development for that multi-campus system. She has been actively involved in distance and online education throughout her career, including policy development as well as program development and implementation. She worked with the U.S. Department of Education on the Distance Education Demonstration Program and served on a task force for the U.S. Department of Defense to develop distance education standards for programs delivered to the military. She received her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
