NUTN 2008

NUTN Leadership Institute: Leadership Development for New Administrators in Online Learning

Monday June 9, 2008
8:30 am - 2:00 pm

Description

The NUTN Leadership Institute offers a unique opportunity to engage with your colleagues.  The workshop is designed for individuals who find themselves in leadership roles, or who aspire to be in leadership roles in the online or distance learning field. Expect to challenge your thinking, build a network of colleagues who face similar challenges and opportunities, and come away with a plan of action for yourself and for your organization.

Several experienced leaders in the field will share resources, discuss relevant case studies, and prepare thought provoking conversation starters to get each component of the workshop off to a great start.  We’ll address common organizational elements with a focus on leadership development for online and distance education including leadership attributes,
strategic planning, student support, faculty development, and the
learning infrastructure.

In addition to the support you will receive during the workshop, participants will be matched with professionals in the field who will serve as mentors for the year.  Mentors will provide guidance and advice on developing an action plan that is meaningful and important to the work you are doing at your institution.  Mentors will also offer you support during the 2008-09 year as you execute your plan.  At our 2009 Conference, you’ll have the opportunity to share the results during a conference session.
