Things to Do in Park City Long before Park City became a world class mountain resort and venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, it was famous as a silver mining town with a lively and colorful past. Founded by prospectors in 1869, Park City continued to mine silver until the early 1970s. The mining company, Park City Consolidated Mines, started the ski business in 1963, when they built the first lifts on what was then called Treasure Mountain. The Park City area now has three world class resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and the Canyons Resort.
Park City is 12 square miles of year-round activity: between hiking and biking and other outdoor activities, you can shop 251 retail stores from Main Street art galleries to Tanger Outlet Mall’s Nike, Polo, Gap, Old Navy and more. Thirsty? Occupy one of 11,354 seats in world-class restaurants from Chimayo’s southwest fare to Wahso’s Asian cuisine.
Of course, we know you are traveling to Park City for NUTN 2008’s compelling speakers and sessions. Come early or stay a day after the conference, and experience this beautiful mountain community:
